In Hawaii, the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission set rules and we carefully follow them. Those regulations are what help to ensure everyone is receiving quality wastewater service at a fair price. All increases in service rates are directly related to the cost of providing high quality service and are subjected to a public review process and approval by the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission.
